Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Would you love a go-anywhere adventure companion, who also would love to cuddle up at the end of the day? If so, Oopsie Daisy may be your gal! Oopsie is a heart stealer and hasn't met a person she doesn't like! She is still learning about the big world out there, so everything is new and interesting, AND MUST BE SNIFFED! Oopsie is as affectionate as a dog comes and can't wait to meet you. She may show this by jumping up and showering you with kisses. She is working on 'sit' as an alternate behavior (and doing well when rewarded for her GENIUS!) for those of you who don't prefer the exuberance of jumping. Oopsie has participated in playgroups with a bunch of doggy friends at MACC. She started out shy (may be undersocialized) but as her friends showed her how much fun they could have, she gained confidence and joined the party. Come visit Oopsie (AKA your new bestie!) at walk in adoption hours: Mon-Fri 1PM-6PM (check in must be done by 530) Saturday 11AM-230PM

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
