Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Warning: May Follow You Everywhere Hi! I'm Goku, and my mission is simple: have fun, stay close to my people, and collect as many treats as possible. I'm a happy-go-lucky guy who's always up for an adventure. Got a toy? I'll chase it with athletic-level enthusiasm! Bringing it back? Well...it's all about the chase. I also think water is pretty awesome, so don't be surprised if I make a splash whenever I get the chance. It also means I might not hate baths. I'm a smart cookie, too! I already have mastered `sit,` and since I'm very treat motivated, I'm excited to learn even more. I can pull a little on leash at first because I'm so eager to see the world, but once I've had a chance to burn off some energy, I settle down nicely. With regular walks and a little training, I'll be a great walking buddy. One of my favorite things? Being with my people. I'll happily be your shadow wherever you go. I may even bounce up to say hello when I'm excited—I'm just so happy to see you! I'm young enough to keep learning, old enough to leave the tiny puppy stage behind, and ready to find a family that wants a loyal sidekick for all of life's adventures. Goku has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. He's also sharing his shelter suite with a friend he met at the shelter. Check out his playgroup video here: To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
