Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever. *Name: Ernie *Age: est DOB 01/2026 *Current Weight: will be 40-60 pounds full grown *Adoption fee: $550 At just 6 months to a year old, Ernie has already endured more pain than any dog ever should. He was found alone on the side of a rural North Carolina road, terrified and suffering from severe burns stretching down his back. We may never know what happened to him or how long he suffered before someone finally stopped to help. One of our amazing rescue partners refused to leave him behind and reached out to SNARR. There was no way we could say no. Ernie has a long road ahead as his burns heal, and he'll need time, patience, and plenty of medical care. But through it all, he has already shown us something incredible—despite everything he's been through, he still wants love. He leans in for gentle pets, soaks up every snuggle he can get, and looks at people with hopeful eyes that somehow haven't given up. His scars will fade with time, but what he needs most now is a safe place where he can finally learn what it means to be cherished. Whether it's a foster willing to help him through his recovery or a forever family ready to love him unconditionally, Ernie deserves the chance to leave his painful past behind. He has a long journey to heal his body... but an even longer lifetime ahead to fill someone's home with unconditional love, cuddles, and gratitude.
