Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Meet Bia. The vet believes Bia is around 2 years old, and as you can see, her transformation has been incredible. Many of you followed the story of two Boxer moms and their puppies who were dumped in the woods in rural Texas. Bia was one of them. It took several days for our trappers to safely bring her in, and we’re so grateful she’s now safe with us. Rhea has already found her forever, and now it’s Bia’s turn. Bia is a sweetie with so much love to give. She’s dog friendly, kid friendly, affectionate and has a great appetite, she loves treats! Her foster family describes her as a gentle, loving dog who enjoys being with people and other dogs. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, receiving excellent care, and is ready to find her family. Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
