Description
Dog Breed: Schnauzer / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Lumiere! This sweet boy came to us after being rescued from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter. He is just the nicest dog! He came to us in very poor condition but is doing well in his foster home now. Lumiere is around 7 years old and 22 lbs. He is an easy-going and gentle boy. He is in a foster home with quite a few other dogs, both big and small, a few cats and a few kids. He takes it all in stride. He is not super playful but just content to be around you. Not a needy kind of boy. He likes to snoop around the yard and sun himself, and loves a walk every day too. Lumiere can probably fit into any situation - he doesn't seem to mind and is grateful for love shown to him. He is a lovely boy. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
