Description
Dog Breed: Corgi. I'm a good girl. I was reportedly used for breeding in my past, but I'm past that now and ready to move on in life. I'm about 5 years old and I'd really rather be the only pet in the household. I don't really care for other dogs or cats, but I love people. Won't you help me get moving on in life to a better place than I came from? If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application at .polkcountyhumanesociety/adopt. You can also reserve an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have visits scheduled, so appointments help ensure I’ll be available. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, and we welcome adopters from any state. We have access to a transport to Aurora, CO. Other outofstate adopters either travel to Missouri or arrange & pay for air transport. Virtual meetandgreets are available on the appointment request.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
