Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Meet Roxie! She’s a sweet 2 YO girl, and we need your help so we can help her! C’mon guys, she’s so cute! She was thankfully spared from entering a shelter when a family friend stepped in, but she's feeling overwhelmed around the other dogs in the home and would do best in a calm, quiet environment (no cats and kids 12+) where she can finally relax and catch her breath. Roxie has had her whole world turned upside down, and right now she just needs a cozy spot where she can decompress and get up to date on vet care. Whether you can foster, or are already an approved adopter and interested in Roxie, please let us know. We would like to find a spot for her asap. Link below to apply. Available throughout the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA) Apply to adopt: .chboxerrescue/adopt

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
