Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Life is coming up roses for our girl, Daisy. She is a young girl of 9 months old and weighing a medium weight of 40 pounds. She will grow a bit more but will most likely remain a medium size gal of under 60 pounds when fully grown. She is a mixed breed girl, and guesses are welcomed but until a DNA test is done, we just do not know her origins. Origins aside, we know she has an engaging personality and longing for a home to call her own. Daisy has many prospects for a happy and long future with her forever family. She envisions her life with happy shared memories that will last a lifetime. Daisy does well with other dogs and children; therefore, she will always welcome those that approach and interact with her. She has not been exposed to cats since coming into rescue so her relationship with a feline is currently unknown. A skill set is an important component in the life of a house dog and Daisy is making her strides. She is currently working on her house, crate and leash training. With more effort and a bunch of commitment, Daisy will be a success in a short amount of time. Time spent with Daisy will be awarding all in itself. Daisy will provide many laughs, joyous occasions and plenty of entertainment for years to come. She is ready to be a family member for life. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
