Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Jules is a beautiful 6-month-old Shepherd mix with the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and a calm, easygoing personality. She's always ready for a game or an adventure, but she's just as happy to relax by your side when it's time to unwind. One of the first things you'll notice about Jules is her incredibly soft coat - you'll want to pet her all day! She's also very smart and eager to learn, making her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Jules is already potty trained and knows how to use a dog door, giving her a great head start over many puppies her age. She has all the fun, curiosity, and sweetness of a puppy, but she's past the stage of razor-sharp puppy teeth and needle-like claws, making playtime much more enjoyable. If you're looking for a loving, intelligent, and well-mannered young dog who's ready to become part of the family, Jules is waiting to meet you. She can't wait to find her forever home! To meet Jules, please complete an application at caws/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at caws/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
