Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 500. Meet Lady, a 65 lb, 3-year-old Doodle (Lab + Poodle mix) who is ready to go wherever life takes her! And actually, PLEASE take her. Lady loves car rides! Lady is the definition of easygoing — she takes everything in stride and would happily go along with just about any adventure her new family has planned A fenced yard would be wonderful for Lady as she loves being out and about. She's a big fan of her daily walks — one in the morning and one in the evening — and she's learned to do all her business on these outings. She did need a little time to get used to walking on a leash, so she'll do best with a family willing to keep up her routine and help her keep building that confidence. Lady has spent time around young adults and has been wonderful with them, and given her calm, laid-back nature, we think she'd do well with children of other ages too. Her history with cats is unknown, but she's shown a calm, relaxed demeanor around other dogs. She would love her people to be home with her during the day! Whoever adopts Lady is going to be one lucky fam If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a charming and increasingly popular hybrid breed, originating in Australia in the late 1980s with the goal of creating a guide dog for a visually impaired individual allergic to dog hair. This delightful canine combines the best traits of its parent breeds: the intelligent Poodle (Standard) and the friendly Labrador Retriever. Physically, Labradoodles boast a range of sizes and coat types, from wavy fleece to curly wool, often shed-reduced, making them a potential option for individuals with mild allergies. Their coats come in various colors, including cream, chocolate, and black. Temperamentally, they are known for being sociable, intelligent, and trainable, making them excellent family pets. They thrive on human companionship and require moderate exercise to stay happy and healthy. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they generally prefer homes with yards over small apartments, though daily walks are essential. Common health considerations, inherited from their parent breeds, can include hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers, so choosing a reputable breeder is crucial for a healthy companion.
