Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier (medium coat). MEET EVIE! Evie is sweet and loveable and ready for any adventure. She will definitely let you now if someone is at the door or entering the house. Evie is house trained, crate trained and seems to understand her name, `sit` and `come`. She has lived with other dogs and enjoy living with another dog in the home again. She will thrive with a family commited to providing her with all she needs. If she sounds like the dog for you please drop by our Boston location to meet her! Evie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Evie or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Physically, they are medium-sized, muscular, and agile dogs, known for their powerful build and distinctive wide smile. Their short, stiff coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns. In terms of temperament, AmStaffs are generally intelligent, confident, and highly loyal to their families. They possess a strong desire to please and can be quite affectionate. While they can make excellent family companions and often get along well with children, early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strength and inherent protective instincts. They are adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments, as long as they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions.
