Dog Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Eli! Eli is an almost 8-year-old Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix with a loyal heart and so much love to give. This handsome medium-sized boy enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks, and relaxing with the people he loves. Eli can be a little shy with new people, but once he trusts you, he's an incredibly affectionate, loyal companion. He's looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time he needs to build confidence and continue learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Like many herding breeds, Eli is intelligent, observant, and devoted to his family. He may alert you when someone new arrives, but with slow introductions and positive reinforcement, he settles in well and continues to gain confidence. Eli is house-trained, healthy, and enjoys regular exercise to keep both his body and mind happy. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can explore and relax outside. He can get excited on walks and may pull on leash, so continued leash training will help him become the best walking buddy. Although Eli has spent most of his life as an only dog, he enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to play with canine friends. Cats are unknown. Eli has also done well with the children he's met and has been friendly with them but he simply needs a little extra time and patience when meeting new people. Eli is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people. If you're willing to give him the patience and understanding he needs, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless love, and a lifetime of companionship. He deserves a family who will show him that the world is full of kind people—and in return, he'll be the most devoted friend you could ask for. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
