Description
Dog Breed: Beagle / Cocker Spaniel / Mixed (short coat). Mia is a gentle, tender‑hearted girl who has already lived a big life. She was abandoned when she became pregnant, but despite everything, she made the long trip to Minnesota with her nine puppies and raised them with absolute devotion. Now that her babies are safe and thriving, it’s finally her turn to be loved. Mia is a playful spirit once she feels comfortable. She adores toys, especially anything she can chew — nylabones are her favorite, though she sometimes forgets that not everything in the world is a chew toy. She loves chasing tennis balls, even if she has no intention of bringing them back; she’d much rather toss them around herself or zoom around the yard with her dog friends. Around her humans, Mia is shy but incredibly sweet. Her tail spins like a helicopter when she sees the people she trusts, even if she still gets nervous when hands reach toward her. She’ll quietly hop onto the couch for pets and snuggles when she’s ready, and those moments feel like little gifts. Walks are still a bit overwhelming for her, so she’s hoping for a patient family who understands that confidence takes time. With gentle guidance, she’ll continue to blossom. Mia is a polite, quiet girl — except when she’s having a “conversation” with the neighbor dogs, which she does with great enthusiasm. She’s fully housebroken, rides beautifully in the car, and is wonderfully respectful of cats (she mostly pretends they don’t exist). Mia is looking for a calm, loving home that will celebrate her small victories, give her space to grow, and show her that she’ll never be abandoned again. If you have a soft spot for shy dogs with big hearts, Mia will be the sweetest companion you could ever hope for. Breed overview
Overview:
The Bocker, a delightful hybrid of the Beagle and Cocker Spaniel, originated from the desire to blend the best traits of both beloved breeds. These medium-sized dogs typically inherit a sturdy build, often with the Cocker's characteristic soft, wavy coat and the Beagle's expressive, sometimes droopy, ears. Their coloring can vary widely, reflecting either parent. Temperamentally, Bockers are known for being friendly, affectionate, and generally good-natured, making them excellent companions. They possess a moderate energy level, requiring daily walks and playtime to stay happy and prevent boredom. While adaptable, their size and need for activity make them more suitable for families or individuals with access to a yard, though they can thrive in apartments with sufficient exercise. Potential health concerns may include those common to their parent breeds, such as ear infections, hip dysplasia, and certain eye conditions, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
