Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Deydey, a charming 2-year-old neutered male Pitbull with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This strong and playful boy is full of curiosity and loves to show off his big wiggle butt when heâs happy. Deydey is affectionate and seeks out human attention, making him a wonderful companion for those who enjoy giving and receiving love. Deydey is moderately energetic and enjoys playtime, especially when treats are involvedâheâs highly treat motivated and responds well to basic commands. While heâs independent at times, heâs easily redirected and eager to please. Heâs excellent at coming when called and appears to be fully potty trained, which makes him a great fit for a home ready to continue his training journey. Though Deydey is a strong boy who can get anxious to get out and about, he shows good human interaction and seems dog friendly, especially with women. He does need some leash training to help him walk comfortably and confidently. Ideal for an adopter who can provide consistent training, patience, and lots of affection, Deydey will thrive in a loving home where he can be both playful and cuddly. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
