Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Grove, an 11-week-old German Shepherd mix with a fluffy coat, an even fluffier personality, and a smile that will melt your heart. Weighing about 17 pounds now, this handsome boy is expected to grow into a medium-sized adult and is already winning everyone over with his confidence, curiosity, and goofy charm. Grove settled into foster care right away and quickly made himself at home. He loves playing with the resident dogs and other foster puppies, chasing toys, chewing on his favorite chew bones, and exploring everything around him. His absolute favorite pastime, though, is splashing in his water dishes. Whether he's pawing at the water or looking like he's ready to dive in for a swim, he keeps everyone laughing. He also has the funniest facial expressions. When he's excited, he flashes an adorable smile, and when he's relaxing, his expressive eyebrows make him look like he's about to ask for the manager. Like any young puppy, Grove is learning all about the world. He is making great progress with his potty routine by going outside after naps, meals, and first thing in the morning. He enjoys lounging in an open crate during the day and will continue building his crate skills after his neuter surgery this weekend. Grove gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. He has also done well meeting young children, greeting them with the same happy enthusiasm he brings to everything else. He has a moderate energy level and will thrive with regular walks, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to learn. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
