Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. EXCUSE ME… HOW IS THEO STILL SINGLE?! #MADLovetheo Located in California Seriously… can he get any more handsome?? Theo has been settling into foster life, and the more we learn about him, the more we keep thinking… someone is going to hit the jackpot with this boy. Loves fetch and will happily chase a ball inside OR outside Professional kiss giver Certified Velcro boy who LOVES to cuddle Sleeps quietly in his crate all night Rides great in the car Walks well with the right setup Comes when his name is called Loves learning new tricks Has an actual OFF switch and enjoys his naps Potty trained AND knows how to use a doggy door Great with kids and adults Gets along with other dogs Does great at the vet Sweet, affectionate and wants to please And because we believe in full disclosure… Theo occasionally believes food left near the edge of the counter has been placed there specifically for him. Apparently he has conducted this experiment twice. Cats? Hard pass. Theo thinks chasing them sounds much more fun than living peacefully with them. He likes little dogs, but he’s still learning that they don’t necessarily appreciate Malinois-sized enthusiasm during playtime. But truly, this boy has come so far. Theo was once a stray, found a family, lost his person, and heartbreakingly ended up back in the same shelter where his story began. Now he’s been given another chance, and he’s showing us exactly what kind of dog he really is. Sweet. Silly. Smart. Loving. And ready to belong to someone again. Theo doesn’t need perfection. He needs someone who wants a best friend who will play ball with them, learn with them, cuddle with them, follow them around the house…and possibly keep an eye on their countertops. Have a tennis ball? You may already have the key to his heart. Theo is ready for his forever. Who’s going to be the lucky one? All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and 6 month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
