Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Maxwell, an adorable and unique looking puppy! Maxwell is estimated to be 6-7 months old and weighs 30 lbs. He is a mixed breed dog. If we had to guess we would say terrier/bulldog mix, but we cannot be sure. Maxwell (or Max) as we like to call him is a friendly, fun and enthusiastic little guy! He loves to play and he loves to snuggle! As you would expect from any puppy, he will need some basic obedience training but he’s treat motivated and ready to learn. Max is neutered, up to date on shots and ready to leave shelter life behind. A young sweet boy like this guy deserves to grow up with a family of his own. If you’d like to meet Max, please fill out an application on our website at Rescueridge. If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will reach out to schedule a meet. Maxwell is located in Monmouth County, NJ Please note, we rarely do out of state adoptions.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
