Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550.00. Meet Aza! Aza is a handsome four-year-old old Cane Corso mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s playful, social, and absolutely loves having fun. Aza does well in canine company and enjoys making new dog friends. He especially loves toys! This smart boy is potty-trained and sleeps in his kennel at night. He will thrive with routine, structure, and consistency. Aza does best with older children who can handle his size and energy. As an enthusiastic player, he may be a bit too much for toddlers or younger kids. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. As a Cane Corso mix, Aza will do best with experienced adopters familiar with large guardian breeds who can continue providing structure, confident leadership, and help him become a well-balanced member of a family. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, fun-loving companion and have the experience to guide a powerful breed, Aza may be your perfect match. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
