Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Future Good Boy in Training Meet Jimbo—a lively puppy with a big personality, a busy brain, and plenty of enthusiasm to share! Jimbo is always ready to bust out of his HAB and get moving. He walks nicely on leash, knows `sit,` and is very treat motivated—which is wonderful for training because this boy is ready to learn! He's still working on taking treats politely, though. He knows he's supposed to wait, but sometimes his excitement gets the better of him and he launches toward that snack like it's the most important mission of the day. Jimbo loves toys and even gave a puzzle a try. He's curious, playful, and always on the move. He's also quite the chatterbox, especially when treats are involved—apparently, he has a lot to say about snack service! This happy boy will need an adopter ready for the fun, energy, patience, and training that come with puppyhood. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, Jimbo has all the makings of a wonderful companion. If you're ready for a playful pup who will keep you laughing, learning, and on your toes, Jimbo is ready to meet you! Jimbo has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. He's also sharing his shelter suite with a friend he met at the shelter. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
