Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Meet Roxie, the 2 year old German Shepherd. Roxie came to the Shelter after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. She arrived with all five of her puppies in tow. Roxie was a good mom and now is ready to be babied by her next family! Since arriving to the Shelter, Roxie has been amiable with staff and volunteers alike. She often comes up to people, gets a sniff in and then leans in for attention. In her previous home, she was outdoors only. At the Shelter, she certainly has been enjoying the comforts of indoor living paired with TLC and enrichment through play, food puzzles and walks. Adopters should be patient with Roxie as she transitions to the new home and learns potty training. Roxie has met other dogs and has been curious and appropriate. A resident dog in the home may be a fit after a meet ân greet. We do not have any history of Roxie with children or cats. Roxie is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them
