Description
Dog Breed: Basset Hound / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Adoption Fee: $350. Minnie heard Pennsylvania was pretty great... so she decided to come see for herself! After her siblings, Toffee and Licorice (adopted) recently found their way to Pennsylvania, they must have told Minnie how wonderful it was—because she and her sister, Willow, packed up and made the journey too! Now all Minnie needs is a forever family to call her own. At just 15 weeks old possibly a Bassett/Lab mix and approximately 15 pounds, Minnie is the smallest of her siblings, but what she lacks in size she more than makes up for with her gentle heart. With her adorable short Basset legs, compact little build, and precious puppy face, Minnie is absolutely irresistible. She's the kind of puppy who quietly melts your heart instead of demanding your attention. Minnie is a little more timid than her siblings and likes to take a moment to figure out new people and places. Once she realizes she's safe, her sweet personality begins to shine. She loves being close to her people and will happily soak up all the love and reassurance you have to give. She is: - Great with dogs of all sizes - Wonderful with people, including children - Cat introduced with little reaction (though she may try to play with a kitty friend—she is still a puppy!) - Mostly house and crate trained on a consistent schedule - She'll let you know she'd rather be with you when it's time for her crate or puppy pen, but after a few puppy protests she settles in nicely - Spayed - Up to date on vaccines and preventatives - Microchipped Fostered in York, PA Minnie would thrive with a patient family who understands that sometimes the shyer puppies have the biggest hearts. Watching her confidence grow and seeing her blossom into the happy dog she's meant to be will be one of the most rewarding experiences. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow, a gentle cuddle buddy, and a puppy who will love you with her whole heart, Minnie just might be your perfect match. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at .pack9rescue. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Breed overview
Overview:
The Bassetdor, a delightful cross between the Basset Hound and the Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity for its unique blend of traits. Originating from the desire to combine the Basset's laid-back nature with the Lab's trainability and friendliness, this medium-sized dog typically inherits the Basset's characteristic long ears and short legs, often paired with the Lab's athletic build and expressive eyes. Their coat can vary in color and texture, often reflecting the common hues of both parent breeds. Temperamentally, Bassetdors are known for being affectionate, loyal, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets. While adaptable, their moderate energy levels mean they thrive with regular exercise and may not be ideally suited for very small apartments without sufficient outdoor activity. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from both sides, such as hip and elbow dysplasia from the Labrador and disc issues or ear infections common to the Basset Hound.
