Physically, they are medium-sized dogs, typically weighing between 30-50 pounds, sporting the Bluetick’s characteristic mottled blue and black coat, often with tan points, and a sturdy build. Their ears are long and pendulous, inherited from both parents. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly energetic, possessing a strong scent drive that makes them excellent at tracking. While generally good with families and children, their energy levels and vocal tendencies (baying) might make them less suitable for small apartments unless adequately exercised.
