Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Corgi / Mixed. Meet Ace! Ace is a sweet and affectionate 2 year old Pit/Corgi mix who is looking for a fresh start after his family made the difficult decision to surrender him when they were no longer able to care for him. He is wonderful with children, and has done well with other dogs. Ace's adoption fee is $125, he is neutered and currently scheduled to receive his microchip, rabies vaccination, and heartworm testing on 7/29/2026 . If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion, Ace may be the perfect fit for your family. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
