Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Corgi / Mixed. Meet Ace! Ace is a sweet and affectionate 2 year old Pit/Corgi mix who weighs approximately 29 pounds and is looking for a fresh start after his family made the difficult decision to surrender him when they were no longer able to care for him. Ace is wonderful with children, does well with other dogs, and is more of a lover than a player with both people and canine friends. He would much rather enjoy affection, companionship, and simply being near those he loves than spend all day roughhousing. If you currently have another dog in the home, we always recommend scheduling a meet and greet prior to adoption to help ensure a good fit for everyone. Ace's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped, current on his basic annual vaccinations, and heartworm negative. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion, Ace may be the perfect addition to your family. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
