Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Border Collie / Mixed. Is anyone missing a male Australian Shep/Border Collie mix that is approx. 18 months old and weighs around 50Lbs.? He was found 07/28/26 off of Nash St. in Rockwall. He is not microchipped and did not have a collar. He is currently on stray hold for the next 72 hours to allow his owner to claim him. If you recognize this dog, please call the Rockwall Adoption Center at 972-771-7750 ext 2. *Please note! All pets on stray hold are NOT AVAILABLE for adoption. PROOF OF OWNERSHIP is required for all reclaims. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email infoRockwallAdoptions. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of its highly trainable parent breeds, the Border-Aussie typically exhibits a medium build with a striking, often bi- or tri-colored coat that can be rough or smooth. Temperamentally, they are incredibly intelligent, energetic, and possess a strong work drive, making them eager to learn and excel in various dog sports. While generally good-natured and loyal, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them best suited for active families or individuals who can provide consistent training and plenty of exercise; they are generally not ideal for apartment living. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions (like Collie Eye Anomaly), and epilepsy.
