Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Meet Willow! She is a 3 month old Great Pyrenees puppy with a heart as big as her fluffy paws. She currently weights 25lbs, we expect her to be around 80lbs fully grown. Found as a stray with her siblings, they ended up in a local shelter before SPIN Rescue came along and their lives took a turn for the better. Now Willow is discovering the joys of belly rubs, yummy treats, and playing with dogs. She loves water and likes to play in her large water bowl. She is also a big fan of toys. Willow loves people, especially kids. There are lots of kids in her foster home that hold her and play with her. She enjoys sitting in your lap too. Her foster family says she is the sweet one of her litter. She is good with all dogs and we believe she would be good with cats too as she leaves the rabbits and chickens on the property alone. During the day Willow is a sloth, but her energy picks up on cooler nights and she has the typical high energy of puppies. She is almost fully potty trained and has been working on her leash manners. She did great in the car. With her gentle eyes and sweet, soulful personality, Willow is ready to share her love and endless cuddling with a forever family. Willow is spayed and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $300. Her home must have another dog to play and teach manners. She is currently in a foster home in Dallas/Ft Worth area of Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport as SPIN Rescue doesn't provide it. Apply to meet and adopt Willow at .spinrescue

Breed overview
Great Pyrenees

Overview:
The Great Pyrenees is a majestic and ancient breed, originating in the Pyrenean mountains between France and Spain, where they served as formidable livestock guardians. Physically, they are large, powerful dogs, easily recognized by their thick, double coat, typically white (though sometimes marked with badger, grey, or tan), and a distinctive "double dewclaw" on their hind legs. Despite their imposing size, their temperament is generally calm, gentle, and remarkably patient, making them excellent companions. They possess a natural protectiveness, which translates to a watchful eye over their families and property. While loving and tolerant with children, their size and barking tendencies make them less suited for small apartment living; a home with a yard is ideal. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, and certain eye conditions, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding. Their independent nature also means they require consistent, positive reinforcement training.
