Looking for a best friend who's equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and tiny tornado? Meet Honey! At about 10 months old, Honey is in her rebellious teenager phase, which means she has big zoomies, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no concept of why anyone wouldn't want to stop everything for belly rubs. Honey loves running, sniffing, digging, chewing on toys, playing tug-of-war, and soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She's a smart girl who already knows sit, down, stay, and up, and she's learning "off," crate training, potty training, and coming when called. Like any teenage puppy, Honey is still working on her manners. She's learning not to pull on the leash, jump when she's excited, play with her mouth, snack on grass, and get distracted by... well... everything. The good news? She's incredibly smart, eager to learn, and full of potential. Honey's dream home would have a securely fenced yard where she can stretch those speedy legs and a family ready to continue her training with patience, consistency, and lots of love. She'll reward you with endless laughs, endless affection, and a loyal best friend for years to come. If you're looking for a dog who's already perfectly polished, Honey probably isn't your girl. But if you're looking for a goofy, affectionate puppy who's ready to grow into an amazing dog with your help, Honey can't wait to meet you! Text me today at 615-598-4466 to learn more about sweet Honey! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
