Dog Breed: Red Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications. You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets. FOSTER NEEDED: Nova is a 2-year-old female Red Heeler mix who needs a loving foster home while she undergoes treatment for heartworms. She’s listed as special needs due to her diagnosis, but PAHS will cover all her treatments and provide everything she’ll need—food, bedding, and more. This little beauty weighs just 24 pounds, so she’s not a big dog at all. Her coat is mostly white with red “freckles,” and she has striking solid red markings around her eyes and ears. Nova is a total sweetheart with a charming personality, and she gets along great with kids and other dogs. If you’d like to foster her, please call or visit PAHS between 11-4, Monday through Saturday, at 334-358-2882. ***Two weeks after Nova was brought in to PAHS; she had puppies. They will be available for adoption soon.*** Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.
