Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Reina is a beautiful 3-year-old Pit Bull who is still getting used to shelter life after recently being surrendered. Understandably, all the changes have made her a little shy around new people, but every day she becomes a little braver and lets more of her personality shine through.Once Reina starts to feel comfortable, you'll see the sweet, affectionate girl her previous owner knew and loved. According to them, Reina is an absolute cuddle bug who lives for belly rubs and quality snuggle time. Don't let the cuddles fool you, thoughâthis girl has plenty of energy to spare! Reina is an active pup who loves to move, play, and have fun. Whether it's walks, adventures, or a good game in the yard, she's looking for a family that can keep up with her enthusiasm for life.Watching Reina gain confidence has been such a joy, and we know her future family will be rewarded with a loving, loyal companion. All she needs is a little patience, a lot of love, and someone willing to help her continue blossoming into the amazing dog she's meant to be.Could Reina be your new best friend? If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
