Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. Bobbie's Pit Bull Rescue (BPRS) has generally not met this dog and is not responsible for any wrong or incomplete information submitted by its owner. The dog did not undergo a behaviral evaluation by BPRS. If you are interested in this dog please email us at bobbiespitrescuegmail and we will forward your information to the owner who will be then in contact with you. BPRS has no further involvment in the adoption process unless requested by the owner and/or adopter. Otis is 6 months old. Currently lives with three adults and 9 other dogs. He gets along fantastic with adult humans but we don't know about children since we don't have any. Cats are also an unknown. He free feeds with his pack and doesn't fight over food. He does like to play tug of war. When he plays he plays hard and his favorite friends are two younger Great Danes, and a young poodle. The older dogs are not interested in playing wit Otis. When he plays he does bark. He is super happy and loves to cuddle. He will lick your entire face when sitting with you. He does great in a car. He walks well on a leash but could improve. He loves to sleep on the bed with you and touch you. He doesn't like to sleep in a crate at night. Potty training is still ongoing. He is neutered. He was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina so we don't know his exact birth date.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
