Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. From Rocky's foster: He is around a year old, and 60 lbs. He’s neutered, heart worm negative, and fully vaccinated. He’s done great with all animals he’s been introduced to- Dogs, cats, and Chickens. He is crate trained and almost fully potty trained, with the occasional accident after chugging down water lol. Rocky is a shepherd mix so with that comes some shedding, but his loving, goofy and cuddle bug personality definitely makes up for it! He is very friendly towards everyone he meets, loves to play with other dogs outdoors and has a pretty chill and well mannered demeanor when in the house. He enjoys cooling off and taking naps on the cold ac floor after playing outdoors, but will always prefer to snuggle up in bed or on the couch with his person…. He just loves to be wherever his people are, he will definitely be your best friend! He does good on car rides and walks well on a leash, loves to swim and play in water as well!

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
