Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (medium coat). A new bombshell has entered the villa, meet Cali! This large lady is ready to find her new home - could you be her next love? Cali is a girl who loves good snacks and a slow walk on the beach followed up by lots of snuggling on the couch. She would do best in a quiet area within a low traffic home. She could do well with kids who are ready to participate in her training plan and can give her space when she asks for it. We recommend that Cali be an only pet in the home so she can take up all of your attention! Cali recently had an amputation of her front left leg. She will require lots of bed rest for now while she heals up, so her new family must be ready to support her needs and find creative ways to meet her needs in other ways than just physical activity. Cali loves a good snack, so offering training games, learning new behaviors, and other enrichment activities will help tire her out more than a walk around the block.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
