Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). #A5787640 Turner is a 4-year-old neutered male Siberian Husky with a gorgeous cream, gray, and black coat that's as soft as it looks. Weighing 46.9 lbs, Turner came in as a stray on July 6 and is ready to find a family who can appreciate his gentle, independent nature. Turner is friendly, affectionate, and easy to handle. He walks beautifully on leash, knows "sit," and takes treats gently. Rather than roughhousing, he'd rather explore the world at his own pace or play with his favorite ball. He would benefit from continued socialization and does best with calm dogs that match his easygoing personality. -4 years old, neutered male, 46.9 lbs -Siberian Husky, cream/gray/black coat -Found as a stray on 07/06/2026 -Soft, friendly, and affectionate -Knows "sit" and takes treats gently -Walks well on leash -Loves exploring and playing with his ball -Best with calm dogs -Ready for a loving forever home TURNER’S VIDEO: .youtube/shorts/Tk3SRcntzwA For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaaunitedhopeforanimals ---- Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/ Use their unique ID NUMBER. Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
