Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). JASPER Jasper is the more outgoing of the two, although he can still be a little nervous. Having his person nearby makes him feel safe, and suddenly he gets a little braver! He’s a mellow guy who takes his naps VERY seriously. ✨ No accidents in the house so far! Still figuring out playing with the bigger dogs Has met cats and politely left them alone Slept great in the kennel with his sister Overall: a very sweet little gentleman! Loves toys and playing Has met cats and didn’t bother them Has had a couple of accidents but is working hard on potty training Slept great in the kennel with her brother ❤️ Loves having a trusted person to make her feel safe Both pups slept together in their kennel like champs They haven’t been around younger children in their foster home yet, so we can’t say for certain how they would do. They can also be nervous around unfamiliar people—especially men—but with patience, reassurance, and time to adjust, they’re already showing that they can build trust. These two don’t need someone to rush them. They need someone willing to give them a safe place, a little patience, and lots of love while they discover just how good life can be. ❤️ Jasper is available for adoption!

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
