Foster Home Feedback 8/5/2026 Foster Feedback: Wini is a spunky gal, who has a wicked side eye. She leans on being more submissive but isn't afraid to get in the mix and play with our other foster and resident dogs. Being 6-7 months old, we are working on potty training. She tends to forget that being in the yard isn't just for fun and may need subtle reminders to go potty. She is very food motivated which helps when working on basic commands and manners. Wini is very curious about everything, no food or drinks are safe unattended -especially anything with whipped cream! She may be small but that doesn't stop her from trying to get into things. Working on recall has been helpful to deter her from counter-surfing. She enjoys being outside, typically you can find her sun bathing or chewing on sticks in the yard. She has puppy energy but loves a good snuggle on the couch. She has spent minimal time with children, but does well with them. I would suggest a home with considerate children. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
