Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $50. ATTENTION: SMALL PUP, EXTREMELY LARGE PERSONALITY! Hi there! My name is Mariah, and I'm here to prove that you absolutely do NOT need a giant dog to have a giant amount of fun! I'm a 6-month-old, 23-pound little girl with a sweet, playful, outgoing personality and enough enthusiasm to keep life interesting. I'm the kind of girl who sees a new person and thinks, “Oh good! A NEW friend!” rather than hiding in the corner. I'm young, I'm adorable, I'm fun, and I'm ready to graduate from shelter life and start my next adventure with my forever family. And guess what?! My adoption fee is sponsored and reduced to just $50! That $50 includes one set of vaccines, including rabies and distemper/parvo, a vet exam, spay, fecal test, general dewormer, and microchip before I go home with you. So basically, for $50, you get a sweet little personality-packed pup who is ready to grow up right beside you and become your new best friend. Sounds like a pretty great deal to me! Call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment to meet me. Come meet Mariah... because apparently 23 pounds is plenty of dog when you pack in this much personality!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
