Description
Dog Breed: Lhasa Apso. Adoption Fee: 325. Tommy is a sweet 3½-year-old Lhasa Apso who is ready to find his forever family! After being found wandering the streets, Tommy came into our care severely matted, with very little known about his past. We discovered that he had an owner who never came forward to reclaim him. Tommy is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. He’s playful, loves his toys, and currently lives happily with six other dogs and a toddler under 2 in his foster home. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he becomes a lovable cuddle bug! Tommy is still learning that grooming is nothing to fear and may fuss with his legs and rear after grooming. With patience, consistency, and time, we expect this behavior to improve. Tommy is looking for a patient, loving family who will give him the time he needs to feel safe and loved Adoption fee is $325 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at .southernnevadabeaglerescue . We are also on Facebook at .facebook/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at .meetup/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash. Beagle enthusiasts, come bay with us..... AROOOOOOOOOOOO!

Breed overview
Lhasa Apso
A.K.A.: Lion Dog, Apso, Abso, Shaggy-Haired Tibetan Dog, Bearded Lion Dog, Himalayan Mountain Dog, Tibetan Apso
Overview:
The Lhasa Apso is an ancient and captivating breed, originating in the Himalayas where they served as watchdogs in monasteries and palaces. These small yet sturdy dogs possess a distinctive appearance, characterized by their long, flowing double coat that often comes in a variety of colors, and a charmingly alert expression framed by hair falling over their eyes. Beneath that luxurious coat is a confident and somewhat independent spirit; they are known for being intelligent, devoted to their families, but can be a bit reserved with strangers. Their relatively small size and moderate exercise requirements make them surprisingly well-suited for apartment living, though regular grooming is essential to maintain their magnificent coat. While generally a healthy breed with a lifespan often reaching into their teens, potential owners should be aware of conditions like patellar luxation or eye problems. With proper socialization and consistent training, the Lhasa Apso can be a delightful and loyal companion for individuals and families alike, offering both love and a touch of ancient mystique.
