The only real mystery is why he’s still waiting for a family of his own. At just under 40 pounds, McCallister is the perfect size for just about any adventure. He’s wonderful on a leash and loves getting out and about, whether that’s hiking your favorite trails, relaxing on a brewery patio, taking road trips, or simply joining you for everyday errands. But McCallister isn’t just an adventure buddy—he has the sweetest, gentlest side, too. At adoption events, he gravitates toward children with the softest kisses and calm demeanor, making him easy to picture as a child’s first best friend. He’d happily clean up snack crumbs under the high chair, cheer from the sidelines at soccer games, and eagerly wait for school pickup. He’s just as wonderful with other dogs. McCallister loves to wrestle, play, and share toys with his foster siblings. He happily greets puppies with gentle kisses through the puppy pen and has no problem making new canine friends. If you’re looking for a companion for your current dog, McCallister would fit right in. The beautiful thing about McCallister is his versatility. Whoever brings McCallister home isn’t just adopting a dog—they’re gaining a loyal best friend. ❤️ All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
