Dog Breed: Shih Tzu (long coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Meet Curly, an adorable black Shih Tzu who was born in April 2025. She can be a little bashful when first meeting someone, but give her a little time and she warms up beautifully. A sweet, social young girl who loves spending time with people and being part of whatever they’re doing. Curly still has plenty of youthful energy and enthusiasm, so she’s looking for a family ready for all the fun that comes with a young dog. She would benefit from basic reward-based training to help her develop good manners and channel that puppy energy into useful skills. So far, Curly has gotten along well with two canine companions. As with any new relationship, introductions to potential doggy housemates should be thoughtful and gradual. Curly’s favorite place is wherever his people are. Overview:
The Shih Tzu, affectionately known as the "lion dog," boasts an ancient and regal lineage, originating from the Tibetan plateau and further refined in imperial China. These charming canines are easily recognized by their striking appearance: a small, sturdy build, a distinctive undershot jaw, and a long, flowing double coat that often requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Temperamentally, Shih Tzus are renowned for being affectionate, outgoing, and playful companions, making them wonderfully suitable for a variety of households.
