Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Meet Marta, This beautiful little lady is looking for a fresh start as she was found as a stray so we are here to find her a new home. As you can well imagine coming here was scary for Marta but once she realized we are all friends and love her without even knowing her she warmed right up! She didn't mind the treats that we gave her either. She'll need to learn all the basics including house training and crate training and leash walking but she'll step to the plate when she finds that loving home. If she sounds like the dog to add to your life please drop by our Boston location to meet her. She won't dissappoint! My friends describe me as: Sweet, playful and affectionate Marta is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
