Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Jack is the sweetest little guy! He is affectionate, adores his people, and wants nothing more than to be by your side all day long. He’s an adventurous pup who loves walks, hikes, and exploring the outdoors. He walks great on a leash and would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys time outside, followed by plenty of snuggling at home. He is very playful and loves to chase toys and balls, run around (he is SO fast), and play with his foster sister. Despite all that playfulness, Jack settles down quickly and will happily nap or entertain himself with toys and chews; he just wants you to be nearby. He sleeps great in his crate throughout the night, but he would definitely prefer to sleep in bed, and he's content to sleep in until you’re ready to start the day. He seems mostly potty trained but has had a few accidents, so he’ll need continued consistency while adjusting to his new home. Jack is smart, takes direction really well, and is treat-motivated. He enjoys toys and carrying around sticks, and has shown very little interest in chewing things that don’t belong to him. Overall, he is a playful, adventurous, affectionate little pup who has so much love to give and would be thrilled to find a family to give his whole heart to! He was born around 3/8/26 and weighs 16.8 pounds. He will likely be around 25-30 pounds when fully grown, but we aren't certain. Jack is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $350 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
