Description
Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: $400. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!! Meet Rosie! She is truly a gem—sweet, loving, affectionate, and incredibly snuggly. She absolutely loves people and wants nothing more than to be close to her person. Whether that means going for a walk, relaxing at home, or simply following you around and being part of your day. She loves getting out for walks and rides fantastic in the car. She does have prey drive and will definitely keep the squirrels and bunnies out of your yard but will also respond to leave it command and redirection. Rosie hasn't met a human she didn't love and has been good with all dogs and cats in her foster home. Although she does have a history of being selective with her canine friends, that behavior has not been seen in her foster home. She can be leash reactive, but with calm, confident leadership, she is easily redirected and very receptive to her handler. She’s a sensitive girl who really looks to her person for guidance and connection, and she thrives when she knows what is expected of her. She just turned 7 years old, so she’s past the puppy stage, knows how to settle, and has so much love to give. She isn’t looking for anything complicated—just a person who will provide her with structure, leadership, affection, and a place by their side. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving Doberman who wants to be your constant companion, this sweet girl could be your perfect match. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. dobermanrescueminnesota/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN. All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Overview:
The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately. Dobermans can thrive in active families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation, but their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Regarding health, they are predisposed to certain conditions like Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), Von Willebrand's Disease, and Wobbler Syndrome, so responsible breeding and veterinary care are paramount.
