Bones is an incredibly gentle, affectionate, and easy-going dog who loves being around people. Whether you're working from home, relaxing with a book, or heading out for a walk, he's happiest just being by your side. He'll quietly curl up at your feet, content to keep you company. He's house-trained, has wonderful manners, doesn't bark unnecessarily, and has never shown any signs of aggression. Bones is playful with other dogs, loves making new friends, and enjoys exploring on walks, taking time to sniff everything along the way. Bones' journey to us began in a small town in Mississippi, where he was found as a stray, just skin and bones and searching for food. After being shown a little kindness, he followed our son home. From there, he made the journey to Seattle, where he has blossomed into the happy, healthy dog he is today. Despite his difficult start, Bones has never lost his trusting, loving spirit. He greets life with enthusiasm and gratitude and has become a deeply loyal companion who brings a sense of calm wherever he goes. Bones would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family. He's the kind of dog who just wants love, companionship, daily walks, and a soft place to rest. In return, he'll offer unwavering loyalty, gentle affection, and the kind of companionship that makes every day a little better. He was positive for heart worm when he arrived and has been treated for that. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
