Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Miniature) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $499. Looking for your next furry BFF? We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at .carolinapoodlerescue/application Foster location: Dreamweaver Farm, Pacolet, SC Weight: 14.5 lbs Height: 12 inches at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes, Laney is spayed. Adoption Fee: $499 Fence needed? Yes (preferred) — if no fence, she will need leash‑training first before she can reliably potty on lead. Want To Know More About Me? Text Laney to 864‑441‑9075 for her full story and photos — we’ll send everything you need to know. If you want to skip straight to the application: .carolinapoodlerescue/application/ Here’s Your Quick Peek: Laney is a shy, gentle Miniature Poodle who came from a hoarding case and is slowly learning that the world can be safe and kind. She’s quiet, sensitive, and sweet — a little dog who needs time to warm up but becomes very devoted once she trusts you. Must have: A calm, patient home with gentle routines. Exercise: Low — she prefers quiet walks and peaceful time outdoors. Best with: Adults or an experienced adopter who understands shy dogs. Not ideal for: Homes with children or loud, busy environments. Energy level: Low — soft, quiet companionship. Laney is working on house training and crate training. She is good with all dogs and enjoys their company. She would benefit from having another dog in the home, but it is not required as long as she still gets regular interaction with other dogs. A confident dog helps her feel secure and encourages her to come out of her shell. Good with dogs: Yes — all dogs. Good with kids: No. Cats: Unknown. Fun fact: Laney loves following other dogs — they help her feel brave and show her how to enjoy life. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Want updates and ways to help? Overview:
The Miniature Poodle, a charming and intelligent companion, originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. They are renowned for their elegant appearance, characterized by a distinctive curly coat (often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting), long muzzle, and expressive dark eyes. Standing typically between 10 to 15 inches tall and weighing 10 to 15 pounds, they are a compact yet sturdy breed. Temperamentally, Miniature Poodles are known for their high intelligence, making them highly trainable and eager to please. They are generally lively, affectionate, and can be quite playful, thriving on interaction with their families. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. They are often excellent with children and other pets when properly socialized. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as progressive retinal atrophy, luxating patella, and Addison's disease. With their captivating looks and bright minds, the Miniature Poodle makes a delightful and devoted family member.
