Say hello to Culebra, Palomino, Icacos & Vieques—four tiny island treasures who have brought a whole lot of sunshine with them! ☀️️ Named after the beautiful islands of Puerto Rico, these little Chihuahua/Terrier mixes are approximately 3 months old, around 3 pounds, and expected to stay under 10 pounds full grown. This is an estimate so can always be bigger! With this small size we are requesting no kids under 8 yrs old for them. And yes they shed, not hypoallergenic. But don’t let their tiny size fool you—these babies are packed with sweetness, personality, and just the right amount of spunk! They love to play, explore, and then curl up for some serious puppy snuggles. There are two boys and two girls, and each one has their own little personality, but they all share the same irresistible combination of tiny paws, big personalities, and hearts ready for a family of their own. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
