Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 385.00. Talia is a 2-year-old little princess whose intake photo instantly won hearts and made it clear she had to become a Texas Husky Rescue pup. She looked scared and defeated when she first came in, but she was lucky enough to spend some time in foster care before joining us, and her sweet, gentle nature really began to shine. Talia is a calm, easygoing dog with a relaxed approach to life. She greets people with friendly interest while remaining quiet and composed, making her easy to leash, handle, and guide throughout her outings. She enjoys getting out to explore her surroundings at her own pace, taking in the sights and smells without feeling the need to be the center of attention. She is cooperative, well-mannered, and a pleasure to spend time with. Talia has a low energy level and carries herself with a thoughtful, steady demeanor. While she may be a little independent and prefers to explore quietly rather than constantly seek affection, she is comfortable around people and enjoys companionship on her own terms. Talia just got spayed, and we’d love to find her a soft place to hang out while she recovers so she doesn’t have to spend another two weeks in boarding. She’s already been waiting long enough — who wants to be a husky hero and open their home to this beautiful girl?

Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
