THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ARF DOG. Anakin is a 3 year old male Siberian Husky who weighs in at 50 pounds. If you are still interested, please read more below. Anakin is a very sweet boy! He loves long walks and loves to talk to you any chance he gets. He is leash trained to walk with a pack of dogs. He recently has become dog aggressive after getting himself into a bad dog fight. He has a very high prey drive – so no cats for Anakin. He loves any attention he can get from anyone. He can be a troublemaker at times if he doesn’t have enough playtime. He loves to run around in a big backyard to get all his energy out. Anakin is housebroken and neutered. Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
