Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Arabella, a gorgeous girl with a heart as big as her namesake. This gal is a mystery waiting to be discovered; she is sure to be a loyal and loving companion to her future family. With her gentle spirit and affectionate nature, Arabella will bring warmth and joy to her new home. She's the perfect blend of playful and calm, always up for an adventure or a cozy night in. Arabella can be initially anxious in new environments, due to being fully deaf. A full deaf dog training program is included in her adoption with Cause-and-Effect Dog Training. She is good with dogs when introduced thoughtfully and has lived with three dogs in the past. Because she is deaf, she would do best in a home with humans over the age of 12. Arabella is an extraordinary dog, and her new family will be truly lucky to have her by their side. Come meet this wonderful girl today and see for yourself! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
