Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Introducing Willow - a sweet little boxer mix from West Dallas. Willow had been observed chained in the yard with no shade or water several times and we wanted to intervene, but couldn't, other than to call the authorities. A short time later, Willow's owner lost their home and surrendered Willow to Angie's Friends, after all! What a lucky day for Willow . . . This sweet pup looks like she's a Boxer mix and she has a lot of boxer mannerisms. She's all puppy - full of energy and ready to play! Let us know if you'd like to meet Willow in person!

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
