Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 375. ♥️ Meet Caroline! ♥️ Sweet little Caroline is part of our C Litter, born to their beautiful mama, Caramel. This little family had a heartbreaking beginning. Caramel was left behind at a Dallas apartment complex after her family moved away, leaving her to give birth and care for her babies alone in the brutal Texas heat. By the time help arrived, Caramel was extremely thin and depleted, doing everything she could to keep her 10 tiny puppies alive. Despite all they had been through, this devoted mama never stopped caring for her babies. Today, Caroline is 3 weeks old , healthy, growing and beginning to explore the world around her. She’s a precious little girl with her whole life ahead of her, and we can’t wait to watch her sweet personality blossom. Caroline is now available for pre-adoption and will be ready to join her forever family on September 19th. ♥️ Learn more about Caroline, including her adoption fee and application information, at TexasACR We are a non-profit 501c3 Animal Rescue located in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
