Nala – Yellow Female, 6 months, 40 lbs. Meet Nala Little Miss Nala is a beautiful 6-month-old Lab mix who has come such a long way—and watching her blossom has been pretty darn special. ❤️ Nala and her two sisters and brother came to us after being found on the streets, shy, unsure and not really knowing what life was supposed to look like. They were skin and bones and understandably frightened of people. It didn’t take long, though, for these sweet puppies to discover that people could be kind, food could be plentiful, and life could actually be pretty wonderful. Of the siblings, Nala is the sweetest and most timid little girl. She may take a little time to warm up, but once she knows you, that shy little girl comes out of her shell and starts playing and having fun. And what a joy she is to watch! Nala has the best disposition—she is kind, gentle, playful and incredibly lovable. She absolutely LOVES the water and is a wonderful little swimmer. Of course, she has also discovered that mud makes an excellent spa treatment. Apparently, a mud bath was just too good to pass up! Like any typical 6-month-old puppy, Nala has plenty of energy and loves to play with her foster siblings. She gets along wonderfully with them and is great with people and children of all ages. She can go from puppy zoomies and playtime to completely crashed out and ready for a good night's sleep. Nala is crate trained and sleeps all night in her crate. She is still working on her leash skills and learning her doggie commands, but she is a smart girl and continues to make wonderful progress. And just look at how far she has come… When Nala first arrived, she didn't even know how to eat from a dog dish. Now she proudly sits and waits for her food to be put down. That may sound like a little thing, but for a puppy who came to us so frightened and unsure, it is a HUGE accomplishment. ❤️ Nala is also a professional belly-rub recipient. She would happily sit with you all day long getting belly rubs, kisses and affection. Once she trusts you, she gives you her whole heart. She may be the shyest of the siblings, but underneath that timid exterior is a sweet, loving, playful little girl who is learning every day that she is safe and loved. Nala has come such a long way—and now she is ready for the next chapter of her life. A sweet girl? Absolutely. A little shy? Yes. Playful? You bet! Water lover? 100%! Mud lover? Apparently! Lovable? Beyond words. ❤️ Now all this beautiful girl needs is a family who will give her the patience, love and security she deserves—and let her continue to blossom into the wonderful Labby girl she was meant to be. Overview:

The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
